Each week students from kindergarten through the sixth grade have a scheduled block of time in the library. The length of these classes is determined by grade level. For grades K-3, thirty minutes is allotted each week. Students in grades 4-6 spend forty-five minutes in the library. During this time, each class is given age-appropriate library instruction and an opportunity to select books, followed by story-time. Topics for instruction include everything from book care to a breakdown of the Dewey Decimal System.
